Surroundings

The Gers Department, located in the South West of France, is one of the least spoilt regions of rural France and is considered to be the heart of Gascony. Its landmarks have changed little since the Middle ages: rugged castles, abbeys and bastides, as well as the Renaissance art of Auch’s Great cathedral. It is a department of rich lands and sweet rivers, a country of geese and vineyards. You will love the moderate climate, the love of the land, the warm welcome of the locals and an intact environment that is ideally suited to relaxation and leisure activities. Hikers and ramblers will love the hillside vineyards and the rolling countryside crossed by a multitude of watercourses. The Gers is also home to many music festivals: jazz, salsa, country, circus arts, Gascon music and cultural festivals.
